Interviews de rue à Paris

Hello. My name is Nicolas, and I work for Paris Infos. Today, we are doing short street interviews. We want to hear simple stories from people in Paris. Can you tell us a little about yourself and also say how you are doing today?

“Of course. My name is Marie. I’m forty-one and I live in Utrecht with my husband and my son. We’re in Paris for a few days. I work in a school. My days are often long, but I like helping children learn new things. Today, I’m not working. I’m a little tired, but I’m okay. My classes always have a lot of energy, and that makes me smile. After this interview, I want to buy some bread, go back to our apartment, and have dinner with my family.”

“What do you like most about your job at school? And after a long day, how do you relax? Do you like quiet evenings with your family, or do you prefer something more active, like a short walk?”

“I especially like children. They ask a lot of questions, and every day is a little different. Sometimes I’m tired, but I’m never bored. In the evening, I like simple things. I like having dinner with my family, helping my son with his homework, and sitting quietly for a few minutes with a cup of tea. Sometimes I also watch a little television to relax.”

“Thank you very much, Marie. It is very nice to hear about your day. Even when life is busy, small moments can make people happy.”

The day continues. Nicolas lowers the microphone and looks at the camera with a smile. Today, he has spoken with very different people. One person is starting a new job. Another person is having a busy day. Another is thinking about family and home. Each answer tells a different story. Nicolas is getting ready to end the show and give a short summary of today’s interviews.

“And now, we are coming to the end of our interviews. Today, we have heard different stories from people in Paris. The streets are full of movement, but they are also full of people with ideas, plans, and worries. Some people are happy, others are stressed, and others are tired but pleased. We hope you enjoyed these little interviews. Thank you for watching us, and have a good day.”

The camera slowly moves away. People keep walking in the city. The buses stop and leave again. Cups of coffee pass from hand to hand. Voices fill the soft afternoon air. Nicolas becomes smaller in the distance and says goodbye to the camera.
